Rachel Brown is the owner of Berkshire's largest independent specialist cake decorating business. which celebrated its 26th year in 2012. She also is the Creative Director of the Berkshire Cake Decorating Academy, with courses created to inspire and teach people in the art of cake- making.
She has published books on cake decorating styles and techniques which are now in several languages, recently translated into Dutch and Spanish.

As you’d guess from our name, we make cakes to order – but not just ordinary cakes. The
ones we make are beautiful and delicious. Every cake is handmade to the highest
standard. We can create almost every type of cake you could possibly imagine –
and even some that you couldn't. Our original designs include bespoke hand
painted, hand carved and hand modelled cakes.
We have a superb selection of
beautiful handmade wedding cakes in a variety of designs to suit any theme,
including classic, contemporary, novelty styles and individual fairy cakes. We
can also create a unique, custom-designed cake for you, incorporating any
colours, fabrics, theme or personal touch you wish into the design.
Although our company is based
in the South of England with our shop in Reading, we provide an on-line service
to cater for all areas of the UK. Our cakes can be delivered all over the UK
(mainland only). Each cake by post is carefully gift wrapped for transportation
and delivered next day by courier. The cakes can be also be hand delivered
locally or collected from our shop in Woodley.
We still maintain a dedicated telephone
service line. Our experienced team of staff are available to assist and help
you and your ideas become a reality. We are also delighted to offer a personal
consultation in our shop at the customer’s convenience.
Our Sugar Craft Shop has all
the equipment and supplies for creating your own cakes at home. We stock a wide
variety of products which include cupcake cases, sugarpaste in every colour,
cake boards, a range of cutters and tools and much more. We also offer a stand
and tin hire service.
Our specialty is in sugar craft design, including printed images, to capture the imagination of our customers and we are delighted to offer a personal consultation in our shop, on-line or by telephone to inspire you or help you develop your ideas into the finished product.
