Party is a piece of cake

The arrival of Maidenhead MP Theresa May was the icing on the cake at the birthday celebrations of a well-known Woodley shop.

Need A Cake! has been making lavish cakes and selling cake-making and decorating equipment in Ravensbourne Drive for 10 years.

Mrs May was on hand to open the store's newly refurbished kitchen and customers were treated to nibbles and slices of birthday cake throughout Saturday last week.

To mark the day Need A Cake! owner Rachel Brown organised a collection and raffle to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Relief as well as creating a birthday cake for their special guest.

Manager Dawn Kelly said:

"We made a cake for Theresa May decorated as a parcel and we donated our birthday cake with the teddy, bears on it to the Foster Residential Care Home in Woodley. Altogether it was a very successful day."
